Subscriptions & Notifications

Traq can email users when tickets are created or change. Who gets an email is decided by subscriptions.

Note

Notifications are sent by email, so the mailer must be configured first. See Mailer Configuration.

What you can subscribe to

You must be logged in to subscribe. Use the subscribe/unsubscribe button on the page of the thing you want to follow.

Subscribe to Where Address
A project The project page /{project}/subscribe
A milestone The milestone page /{project}/milestone/{slug}/subscribe
A ticket The ticket page /{project}/tickets/{id}/subscribe

The same address with unsubscribe removes the subscription. Your subscriptions are listed in the User CP under Subscriptions (/usercp/subscriptions).

Who is emailed

Event Project subscribers Milestone subscribers Ticket subscribers
Ticket created ✔ ✔ (ticket's milestone) ✔
Ticket closed ✔ ✔ ✔
Ticket reopened ✔ ✔ ✔
Ticket updated (including comments) ✖ ✖ ✔

In addition, the person a ticket is assigned to gets an email when the ticket is created with an assignee, or when it is assigned or reassigned. This doesn't need a subscription.

Other details:

  • A user who matches several subscriptions for the same event gets one email.
  • Project subscriptions only cover tickets in that project. Milestone subscriptions cover tickets currently in that milestone.
  • Wiki changes don't send notifications.

Watching tickets you create

In the User CP (/usercp), Watch created tickets automatically subscribes you to each ticket you create, so you get emails about every update to it.

Unsubscribing from an email

Each notification sent because of a subscription ends with an Unsubscribe link. It works without logging in and removes only the subscription that caused that email. (The email sent to an assignee isn't tied to a subscription, so it has no link.)

Other emails

The mailer is also used for account emails, such as the address validation email sent after registering and password reset emails.
